Site received close to 1 million visits last year alone!
For Immediate Release
Even without promotion, www.NorthPole.net
attracts hundreds of thousands of visits each year. Bidding will open at $50,000
“NorthPole.net is a great fit for a major corporation that
wants to communicate with children. We
are selling it because we’ve been overwhelmed with its popularity. With close to a million visits last year, we
just can’t keep up with the site and support it in the way
that children deserve,” said Rob Hall, President and CEO of Momentous.ca.
NorthPole.net features greetings from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and
Rudolph, activities such as downloadable Christmas pictures to print out and
colour, a North Pole Weather Report, a list of frequently asked questions (e.g.
How does Santa know if I’ve been naughty or nice?) and Christmas traditions from
around the world.
Since 1994, Momentous.ca has operated the site on a
volunteer basis, pouring in a great deal of time and resources to make the site
one of premier Christmas sites around the world. During the run-up to Christmas 2001, the site
received nearly 1 million visits with close to 3,000 unique sites pointing to
it. For more information on visitors to
NorthPole.net go to www.NorthPole.net/stats.
“It’s time for someone to take over the site and nurture it
the way it should be nurtured. We’re
looking for a good home for NorthPole.net, and we intend to make sure that it
ends up in the right place,” concluded Hall.
Bidding on NorthPole.net will be kept open until April 30 at
www.eBay.com. The specific link is http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2003168335.
